Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Hsinchu Islamic Association (HIA) held the Eid Al-Fitr 1447 H celebration on Saturday, March 21, 2026. This event is part of the ongoing effort to strengthen Islamic brotherhood (ukhuwah islamiyah) among Muslims in Hsinchu and surrounding areas.
Eid Al-Fitr Prayer: Two Sessions
To accommodate the growing number of worshippers, HIA organized Eid Al-Fitr prayers in two sessions at the Parking Lot Behind Hsinchu Bus Station (No. 188, Nanda Rd, East District). The first session began at 07:00 with Imam Mahmoud Abouzaid and khatib Iqbal Fawaz Ramadhan. The second session was at 07:45 with Imam Mohammad Abu Bakar and khatib Aris Kusumo Djantoro. The outdoor venue was chosen to provide sufficient space for worshippers to perform their prayers comfortably.
Open House: Eid Gathering Tradition
After the Eid prayer, HIA held an open house at Mushola Hsinchu. This event served as a gathering space for the Muslim community to reconnect, seek forgiveness from one another, and strengthen their bonds of brotherhood. The open house featured traditional Indonesian Eid dishes such as ketupat (rice cakes), opor ayam (chicken coconut curry), rendang, and various traditional pastries. The event was open to all Muslims in the Hsinchu area, free of charge. We hope this event can be a meaningful moment for Muslims abroad to feel the warmth of Eid even when far from home.
Community Collaboration
This Eid Al-Fitr celebration was made possible through the support of various parties, including Jamaah Yasin Tahlil Hsinchu, Indonesian Stores in the Hsinchu Area, and other Muslim communities in Hsinchu. This collaboration demonstrates the solidarity of the Muslim community in Taiwan in preserving religious traditions and values of togetherness.
